Concert in memory of František Stadler in Strážov
On the 3rd of March this year, our foundation in cooperation with the town hall of Strážov in the Klatovy region organized a concert of great importance. František Stadler, the father of our founder Jan Stadler, came from Strážov. Without František Stadler, a successful wholesaler and cultural patron, our foundation would not have been possible. Even in Strážov, the generosity of František Stadler is still remembered, as he helped the local people economically. His generosity contributed to the construction of the sokolovna, the support of local people in need, artistic activities in the town, and perhaps even the reconstruction of the Strážov church. However, his noble deeds were brought to an abrupt end by World War II, during which František Stadler was martyred in the Lodz concentration camp. Therefore, together with the Strážov councillors, we decided to honour the memory of František Stadler and organise a concert in his honour. The concert, which took place in the local ceremonial hall, featured a duo of Sylvia Schelinger (flute) and Amelia Tokarska (harp). All visitors were delighted by the 19th and 20th century French and Italian music performed by these two great musicians.
