What's new in the Hrzán Palace?
It is the middle of 2024, and the inhabitants of Prague are continuously leaving the city, which has in the meantime filled up with tourists. The work schedule of Prague's institutions has slowed down and become more sedentary in the heat. But something new is always happening here. The reconstruction of the foundation premises on the first floor of the Hrzánský Palace is in full swing. The builders have uncovered the plaster, ceilings and floors, and their rehabilitation is now underway. This gives us a glimpse of the work of our ancestors who built the Hrzánský Palace and whose successors subsequently reconstructed it several times. It is often a very enlightening view.
A lot of new things are happening in the Hrzánská arcade as well. In recent weeks and months, several new design shops with original Czech fashion and accessories, the GOAP art gallery and probably the smallest concert hall in the world - the so-called Concert Hall - have opened here. From the world of fashion and design, we can mention specifically the handmade handbags of the Folbeur brand, unique swimwear and clothing by Tereza Trusinova, high-quality natural cosmetics by Smyssly and, of course, the design multifunctional showroom Sláva!, which is dedicated to cutting-edge Czech fashion, jewellery and accessories, and where a new espresso bar with a selection of coffee and other products has just opened these days. Come and sit in our arcade with a cup of delicious coffee too!
