Salon Celetná: First concerts this year in the sign of clarinet, flute and bassoon
The first concerts of the spring season in the Celetná Salon were mainly devoted to woodwind instruments. We opened our doors for the first time on 21 April, when we welcomed bassoonist Adam Plšek and flutist Eliska Boškova. Both of them are actively involved in the Chamber Music Academy project and Adam Plšek is also a scholarship holder of our foundation. We support him during his studies at the Music Academy in Basel. Our further support is also directed directly to the organisers of the Academy of Chamber Music, in whose projects both musicians are involved. Another concert exclusively for "wood" took place on 3 May, when two great young clarinetists Marek Švejkar and Kateřina Škardová performed in the Celetná Salon. This predominance of woodwinds is due to the fact that all our performers were preparing for important auditions and competitions, and the concerts in our Salon allowed them to perform a prescribed program in public, which is an irreplaceable bonus before a competition or audition. At both concerts we heard works by Camille Saint-Saëns, W. A. Mozart, Igor Stravinsky, Frank Martin, Bohuslav Martinů, Zdeněk Šesták and Rudolf Kubín.
