Consent to personal data processing

Cello recital by Karolina Žáková in the April Salon Celetná

Karolína Žáková studied with Miroslav Petráš at the Prague Conservatoire and the Academy of Performing Arts, completed her Bachelor's studies at the Haute école de musique de Genève-Neuchâtel under Denis Severin and is currently studying for her Master's degree at the Conservatoire National Supérieur in Lyon under Anne Gastinel. She also extended her education at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen in the class of Toke Møldrup. She has participated in masterclasses with many distinguished cellists such as Jens Peter Maintz, Wen-Sinn Yang and Alisa Weilerstein. As a soloist she has performed with the Prague Philharmonic, the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava and the Hradec Králové Philharmonic. In 2026 she will make her debut with the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic in Zlín with Bohuslav Martinů's Cello Concerto No. 1. In addition to her solo playing, she is intensively involved in chamber music and has collaborated with artists such as Ori Kam, François Dumont, Sergey Ostrovsky and Pierre Fouchenneret. She is a laureate of numerous competitions, including the Jan Vychytil Competition, the Pro Bohemia Competition and the International Cello Competition for the Gustav Mahler Prize in Jihlava. In 2021 she was a finalist in the international competition Societas Umanitaria in Milan.

Stanislav Gallin graduated from the Music College in St. Petersburg and the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in the class of Peter Toperczer, from which he graduated in 2007 with a performance of Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto in the Dvořák Hall of the Rudolfinum. He also studied at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Peter Lang and completed his doctoral studies in 2012 at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava in the class of doc. Elena Händler. He is a founding member of Orbis Trio, winner of four international competitions, including the prestigious International Chamber Music Competition in Hamburg. He has participated in masterclasses with Lazar Berman, Eugene Indjic and Avo Kouyoumjian. As a soloist, he has appeared with the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra, PKF - Prague Philharmonia, Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra Olomouc and Pilsen Philharmonic Orchestra and has collaborated with conductors Jakub Hrůša, Tomáš Brauner, Jack Martin Händler and Ondřej Vrabec. He has given concerts in Europe, the USA, Asia and Africa. Since 2009 he has been an assistant professor at the Department of Piano Cooperation at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.
