We are launching a residency programme for chamber ensembles
We are pleased to present a new residency programme for young talented chamber ensembles performing in the Czech Republic. The programme is designed to continuously support the artistic growth of exceptionally talented classical music students aged 18-28 who are already active on the concert stage, have achieved their first great results and are striving for a top professional career.
The residency programme: what it offers and who it is for
Each year, one ensemble in residence will be selected following an open call and a thorough selection process. The Foundation places emphasis on the quality of past performance, motivation for collaboration and potential for further growth.
The residency program offers:
facilities for regular rehearsals in the Foundation's concert hall with a Steinway piano (Salon Celetná);
two concert performances during the season;
Opportunity for pedagogical guidance from top artists;
intensive promotional support.
In return, the ensemble commits to rehearse two selected works as agreed with the Foundation and to present the residency to the public and its professional partners.
Siebeneichener Quartett - ensemble in residence for the 2025/26 season
The Siebeneichener Quartett has been selected for its first-ever residency for the 2025/26 season, comprising:
David Hernych - 1st violin
Marek Pavlica - 2nd violin
Jan Čermák - viola
David Pěruška - cello
The ensemble consists of students of leading Czech and foreign music schools, who have made a significant impact by winning the Bohuslav Martinů Foundation Competition in 2023, where they won the first prize in the category of chamber ensembles. In 2025 they were invited to attend a prestigious masterclass in the USA led by members of the famous Juilliard String Quartet - their participation in this course was financially supported by the Stadler-Trier Foundation.
The quartet has already won several great concert opportunities within established music projects (Otakar Ševčík Festival, Academy of Chamber Music, Academy of Classical Music within the Dvořák Prague Festival), and is gradually building its place on the professional art scene.
"The residency is not a reward for achievements, but an expression of confidence in what is yet to come. In the Siebeneichener Quartett we have found four young personalities who want to create something together - and with a deep inner sincerity. As a foundation, we want to be close to them right now - at a time when their direction is being born. It's moments like these that are our greatest inspiration."
- Magdalena Nováčková, Director of the Foundation -
